LOOKPOST: The Bomb (2/2)

I am really loving the heat in Cape Town, it finally makes me feel like summer is coming and I could not be more excited. As the air is a little warmer, it is the correct time to wrap up winter in my little blog and give you the second half of my Bomber looks.

LOOKPOST: The Bomb (1/2)

I hope you are all doing great and feel rested after the weekend! I feel like 9 times out of 10 this year I am starting my posts off by saying how long it has been since I have last posted and this breaks my lil heart.

MBFWCT - The Intern

A few weekends ago I was lucky enough to attend Mercedes Benz Fashion Week as an intern for Tart - Clothing. I first saw Tart at MBFWJ earlier this year and fell hoplessly in LOVE with their designs.

INSTA ROUND UP

Hey, whatsup, hello!

Vac is over for little old me and I really have no idea where the time went! My final year of school is nearly over and I really still can't believe this is my last term of school- EVER (yassss). This vac was taken as my final break to sleep and relax because realistically, there will be zero chill up until late November in terms of academia. I filled up my time with series (do yourself a favour and watch Power, you'll thank me later), sleep, great food and every now and again when the weather permitted seeing some friends and family (sidenote: I also got my brows threaded for the first time! #youcare)

I've been (trying to) make my insta look visually appealing and in-line with the content that you will be seeing on my blog and I think I'm finally (after like 3 years, lol) getting a hang of this Instagram thing. I'm the first to admit that I'm probably too OCD with my whole insta aesthetic but whatever, lol! So anyways, my vac pics are all in-line with that so I wanted to share a few of my insta vac snaps with you all!

11/07 - 19/07

30/06 - 19/07

If you like this and would like to see more of my insta snaps, do follow me on instagram on: zeexonline and let me know what you think! Thank you again, for stopping by.

BEAUTY: HAIR DIARIES

So a few weeks back I decided to venture into the unknown world (well, to me) of coloured braids. Now I know you're probably thinking "WHATS THE BIG DEAL YO?" but actually to me my hair is actually a huge deal, lol. I have always loved experimenting with my hair in terms of different styles with my braids and natural hair. I've cut fringes, done super long braids, corn-rows, you name it. But I have always been so scared to try colour for the fear of looking strange and having to live with it for a whole month!

The other day when I decided to go fiber shopping with the lady who does my hair, I came across this colour and she launched me into trying it. Now, the hair shop was fairly dark and so the fibre looked about 3 shades darker in the shop, but as she was braiding I saw that the colour was MUCH lighter than I anticipated. I decided to embrace the colour and pray it looked good, and yaaaaaaas *victory lap* it does! Since I put it on a lot of my female followers on Facebook and IG have dm'ed me and asked me about it so I decided to do a young photo-shoot and show you all how it really looks (without the filters). These are just regular single twists and are so great for protecting your natural hair in winter. I would SO recommend anyone who is feeling iffy about if they should try colour or anything new with their hair to just go for it (especially my ethnic ladies). It really is just hair.

LOOKPOST: Tube It

Hey hey!

NP: Do It Again - Pia Mia ft Tyga and Chris Brown

I hope you're all good. Vac has been great so far, with all the extra time to sleep, blog, workout, (work) and most importantly catch up on some series! I have a talent in binge watching series that I probably shouldn't be too proud of but I swear it keeps me sane, (LOL). I am dying to get out but alas, Cape Town weather won't let your girl flourish (sad-crying-face emoji).

When it comes to winter I have very mixed feels. On the one hand I am super into the warmer clothing, darker make-up and the 'warmer' hairstyles (i.e fuller hair) and on the other hand I'm not so into the gloomy weather that keeps my already loner-esque self indoors all-the-time. This year in little old Cape Town, we are getting winter with little snippets of summer in between which is always great because you know how ya girl loves her tube skirts!

LOOKPOST: Catch Up

Hey guys!

NP: My Side - Drake

Wow, it has been a minuet! I have so missed blogging and have been suffering from severe FOMO but I'm happy to say I'm back, and just in time for winter vac! This term has been physically, emotionally and mentally exhausting. Matric is showing me fire flames (I'm sure if you're here too or have been here you can relate), but I'm trying to take it one day at a time and put everything I am doing right now in persepective. I am so ready to reunite with my bed, and catch up on some sleep but also to create some super cool stuff for my website.

Black on Track
I not-so-recently bought these cute black jeggings from Legit because somehow I didn't have a pair that I felt were versatile enough, and Legit has great styles and SO much variety. I have found their jeans also cater for a range of body-types which is super cool because there is a pair for everyone! I ripped them myself at the knees to add a bit more edge (yet I wouldn't recommend doing this for your winter jeans, learnt the hard way LOL)

YOUR BEST SELFIE

Hello honey's,

I hope you all had a restful and fun Easter weekend and are not too sour grapes about getting back to work this week (yaaas for those like me who aren't)! One can often get carried away by all the 'fun' parts of Easter (Easter eggs, #hotcrossbuns <3, time off work/school etc) and forget the true reason for the season, so I hope you all took time to reflect, and realize just how blessed you all truly are.

Something that I've been thinking about a lot lately and that I touched on a bit in my previous post is the topic of confidence, mostly in teenagers and young women. I personally would consider myself a person who is fairly confident but like most teens and young women, I do have times when I feel crappy or sometimes let how others perceive me really affect how I feel about myself. These times never last forever though, and I am usually always able to pick myself up, give myself a talking-to and shake off the negativity. For those lovely ladies who need a little help, these are tips from one girl to another about how to get out of that personal funk:

Word of affirmation - And I'm sure you think I am referring to the ones that you heard about in Life Orientation or on Dr Phil referring to your 'Love Languages'? - wrong. Words of affirmation are encouraging and motivating words for individuals that lift them higher. I personally believe words of affirmation need to come from within. Tell yourself you're the best, tell yourself you look cute in that dress, tell yourself you did well in that test. Encouragement needs to come from within, and waiting to hear words of affirmation from other people will sometimes leave you disappointed and constantly feeling down because truth be told, not many people these days are always keen to give out compliments and would kill to see you fall. Don't give them the satisfaction. In the same way though, don't be conceited or narcissistic because no one likes that either. Give yourself props when props are due. Compliment ya damn self!

Don't like it? Change it! - One thing no one likes, is a complainer, whether its about school, your weight, your hair, your clothes, everyone hates it! It is always so easy to complain about all the things you don't like and 'can't change' and the really hard part is actually making the decision to change and stop just complaining about it. For the longest time all I would do is complain and never do anything (laziness was on fleek) about anything and this was so draining for me and the people around me. When you start to be about actions and less about words, you start to radiate positive energy and people love that!

Remember > you're the bomb - Often we get so caught up in the hype of other people that are better, skinnier, prettier, smarter than us and forget how much we have to offer. Of course we can't excel and be the best at everything, but one thing you can always be the best at is being YOU. We all have unique talents and gifts that God has graced us with and just because you didn't get the highest mark, didn't look the best at that party, win first place in that race, it doesn't make you any less fab and any less of a person. We are all equals, and we are all equally amay-may! ALWAYS believe in what you have to offer the world, because you have plenty!

LOOKPOST: Keep It Movin

Hey guys!

I can finally say I have conquered Term 1 of Matric 2015, I have 2 terms of school left (eeeeeeep) and I am well on my way to achieving my goals for this year. I made it past my first couple of tests, my ever increasing workload and of course my Matric Dance! Phew! These passed 3 months have been nothing short of tiring and overall challenging, but now as I look back on them (and really see them in perspective) I am actually super proud of how far I've come and am so motivated to get where I need to go this year.

This holiday I plan on blogging my little heart out and I have such great posts lined up that I can't wait to share with you all. My main goal for my blog, along with inspiring young ladies and creatives and being inspired by fellow creatives, is to be consistent with my posts and content  and also to always give my readers cool and interesting posts which I'm really going to work hard on this vac, so stay tuned! If there is anything specific that you would like to see me blog about, please don't be shy and leave me a comment at the end of this post, and I will definitely get back to you!

Keep It Movin

This look is what I classify as 'street-chic'. It is very laid back, easy and comfortable but is also really chic in that it is all black with a touch of colour and the blouse edges it up in a chic and sophisticated way so it's not too casual. Sunnies are my go-to everyday accessory because not only will my eyes die in the heat, but they are the perfect way to look glam in your day-to-day outfits!

LOOKPOST: Limited Edition

Hello beautiful people!

Firstly, let me start off this time by wishing you all a fruitful and productive week! I've been super stressed lately, due to the thousands of assignments and projects that I have due in the next 2 weeks and on top of that, my Matric Dance is next week and so preps are having me at the moment *cries thug tears* So to anyone who is feeling super-overwhelmed this week, I am 100 percent right there with you! Blogging consistently has become a bit of a challenge lately for me because of all these school related stressors, but hopefully I can get in AT LEAST one post a week, to keep my sanity in check lol!

Limited Edition
Since its Monday I decided to do my bit in terms of 'Motivation Monday' and try spark some confidence in all my readers today! This top has literally been one of my best buys in terms of statement tee's because it actually says something relevant (S/O Mr P)! Limited Edition means one of a kind, while stocks last, 'you-ain't-finna-get-this-somewhere-else' and that's how I feel all people should see themselves! We are all uniquely and carefully made for a purpose and there is no one who is the same as someone else and has the same qualities as anyone else so embrace the best and worst parts of yourself this Monday, and kickass! P.S this post is really less about the look and more about the message, but outfit still bomb!

REVIEW: 57th Annual Grammy Awards

Happy Fashion Friday beautiful people!

Last weekend it was that time again for the Annual Grammy Music Awards in LALA Land! This is literally my favourite awards red carpet because I always expect the fashion to be outstanding and to see a bunch of my favourite celebs stepping out of their comfort zones a little and taking risks. I must say, overall, I was quite underwhelmed by the fashion at this year's Grammy Awards. Of course there were always those 'ERMEGERDYOURESUCHAFLAME' moments and those 'WHY DIDYOU EVEN LEAVE YOUR HOUSE' moments, as standard procedure to any Hollywood red carpet. It's been a while since I've done a red carpet review so here goes.

Couples
Ariana Grande and Big Sean

Ariana wears Versace and Big wears Saint Laurent. I don't really understand the dynamics of Ariana's dress to be honest, she looks like she is off to senior prom. The silver metallic fabric looks like it was just randomly sewn on the dress with no particular purpose. Big looks dapper as always. 6/10 definitely and the 5 goes to Big Sean.

Helen Lasichanh and Pharrell Williams

Helen and Pharrell wear Adidas. I am simply unable to can with whatever is going on here.

Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West

Kim wears Jean Paul Gaultier dress, Kanye wears Balmain. Despite everyone saying how much they love Kim's dress, I'm not feeling it. It looks a bit too lavish, almost like the dress is wearing her. Sleeves are much too long and it looks like she is having a hard time wearing it (it looks heavy AF)
